dineL.A. Restaurant Week Hits

It is officially dineL.A.’s restaurant week here in Los Angeles and we are fully prepared for our food baby. If you don’t know what dineL.A. restaurant week is, January 17-31, you can dine at some of your favorite local restaurants for a special menu price. This gives guests the opportunity to try various special menu items that make each restaurant so unique.

You can check out the entire list of restaurants, listed by cuisine and location, here to get the full rundown. But, we’ve also created a must-visit list to share with you since we are huge foodies here at Riad.

Estate Restaurant + Bar
Santa Monica, Euro-Asian

Yes, this is our sister restaurant but we promise we are not being biased. This $39 menu will knock it out of the park. Nestled in Santa Monica, Estate brings in globally inspired farm-to-table cuisine from Chef Hisashi Yoshiara. Our personal favorites on the dineL.A. menu are: ‘Temari’ Avocado-Yellow Fin Tuna Tartar (whenever someone says crispy rice we come running), Scottish Salmon with melt-in-your-mouth Marcona almond pesto, and of course, for the chocolate addicts, a warm Frangelico Flourless Chocolate Cake.

Yours Truly
Venice, American (New)

A new restaurant located on Abbot Kinney stepping out into the scene. Offering both a lunch menu for $20 and a dinner menu for $39 provides an amazing opportunity to try this new, refreshing menu. The Delicata Squash with a combination of harissa and burnt onion ranch turned our food world upside down. We want to eat squash this way forever. Their Fingerling ‘Cacio e Pepe’ also takes a unique spin on the classic and it is spectacular. If we are going to be honest, their dineL.A. menu is probably among the best we’ve seen; we would order every single thing if we could.

Alimento
Silver Lake, Italian

As you may know from previous blog posts, we are huge fans of Alimento. Like we mentioned before, we would say that this is the best Italian in LA and it truly never fails to impress us. The moment we saw their dineL.A. menu, our jaws dropped to the floor. They are offering lunch for $25 a person which includes a Potato Frico Waffle (pictured above) and dinner for $49 that includes the beloved Saffron Risotto ‘Tots’ and the Agnolotti.

Beauty & Essex
Hollywood, American (New)

Chopped fans, get ready. This is Chef Santos’ third location and it won a Michelin Star in 2019. The menu includes various multi-ethnic dishes that we are sure you’ve seen on Instagram. For dineL.A., they are offering a dinner menu for $49 a person. Be careful not to miss the Tuna Poke Wonton Tacos (all over IG), Mexican Street Corn Ravioli, BBQ Short Rib Mac (will put you into a food coma), and the legendary “les nyc” Doughnuts.

Fishing With Dynamite
Manhattan Beach, Seafood

For those of you who want to make the trek to Manhattan Beach, look no further. Fishing With Dynamite ranks in our top 10 culinary experiences. They are offering both a lunch menu for $35 and a dinner menu for $49 which is a steal for the quality of food you will get. When we say you must get the Raw Bar platter with Peruvian scallops, we mean serious business. These are by far the most decadent, flavorful scallops we have and will ever eat. They are also known for their Key Lime Parfait, which is the most perfect balance of tartness and sweetness we’ve ever tasted in a Key Lime dessert.

Here’s Looking at You
Koreatown, American (New)

A Koreatown staple. Their normal menu definitely takes some risks and throws some curveballs, but we are all about it. The dineL.A. dinner menu is $49 a person and absolutely kills the restaurant week game. Major dishes to be ordered: Brisket Tartare, Ocean Trout, and Chocolate with brown butter and hazelnut. Mic drop on the dessert. We highly recommend visiting again after restaurant week to try other menu items because your food world will be changed.

Redbird
Downtown, American (New)

We had to include a boujie option for you. At the higher price range of dineL.A. for dinner at $59, it is most definitely worth it. We are in awe of the aesthetic here; bright-colored booths fill the massive modern space that once was a church, which makes it the perfect setting to ball out. Our dineL.A. must-haves include the Burrata (with pepita-cashew butter, sign us up), Cavatelli, Lamb Shank, and a light Olive-Oil Cake.

Sugarfish
Multiple Locations, Sushi

Restaurant week obviously calls for sushi. The best sushi deal you will ever get and one of the highest quality you will taste. You get Edamame, Salmon Sashimi, 2 pieces of Albacore and Salmon Sushi, 2 pieces of Yellowtail Sushi, 2 Pieces of Sweet Shrimp Sushi, 2 Pieces of Large Scallop Sushi, 1 Toro Hand Roll, and 1 Crab Hand Roll. All of that. $39. Enough said.
