Holiday Cocktails 2019

Shifting from the Pumpkin Spice season to the season of Gingerbread, Cinnamon, Eggnog, Mint, and Pomegranate (to name a few). At every Hanukkah and Christmas party, you’ll be sure to see these flavors not only at the dinner table but also at the bar. Riad loves all these flavors in cocktails, so we decided to give you some ideas to wow your guests.

Pomegranate Sangria

We couldn’t imagine anything more perfect to keep you warm this holiday season than some red wine. Pomegranate is the shining star of fruit during the winter months making this a killer combination. Here at Riad, we personally love Bobby Flay’s recipe, which brings in the addition of brandy and orange liqueur. Manischewitz

Riad can’t leave out the most famous kosher wine to celebrate Hanukkah. This wine has a very distinctive flavor that is quite sugary. Some would compare it to the taste of grape soda. This juicy, rich wine is a tradition for many families and makes every holiday memory even sweeter. To really impress your guests, give them a full rundown on the Manischewitz history, starting with the Matzo square.

Gingerbread Eggnog

Ah, eggnog. Either you love it, or you hate it. Growing up, eggnog was the least appealing drink at the holiday table but as we’ve aged, this has become a staple. At Riad, we love to celebrate with this thick and creamy milk. The spice of gingerbread adds an extra kick and will taste heavenly; almost like you’re dipping a warm, freshly baked gingerbread cookie straight into your eggnog. Cranberry Mules

Served in the classic copper mug, seeing these at the dinner table is absolutely delightful. It brightens the holiday colors and illuminates the setting. Cranberries, similar to pomegranates, pop up often in both dishes and drinks throughout the holiday season. We personally think that ginger beer and cranberries are the ultimate dynamic duo. This recipe you can definitely create on your own based on your classic mule, or you can find a plethora of them online.

Spiced Chocolate Stout Beer Cocktail

Of course, we had to add in a cocktail that included beer for all your beer-lover guests. The holiday season also calls for an indulgence of chocolate. We know that these are two things that are usually paired together, but trust us, this will be a great addition to your holiday party. The hint of cinnamon ties all the flavors together to spice things up. Our trusty recipe can be found here: https://www.myrecipes.com/recipe/spiced-chocolate-stout-beer-cocktail
